Rolls and rings management

The RGM system is the responsible to manage the roll shop: rolls and guides. For the operation of the system we have 5 modules for the monitoring, these modules are:

• RGM: module in charge of the roll and guide management. This is an administration module.
• Roll Housing Assembly: is designed to generate work orders for the roll’s assembly area. This is a floor module.
• Assembly & Disassembly: module to report assembly or disassembly rolls. This is a floor module.
• Pass & Roll Changes: This module tracks the roll and guide status, and also is responsible to make changes upon the sets. This module is responsible to track everything that happens in the line from the main pulpit. This is a floor module.
• Turning Rolls: this module is in charge of the inspection, generation and tracking of the machining work orders. This is a floor module.

The cycle starts when a Work Order is generated (Roll Housing Assembly), in this Work Order we define which rolls and guide need to produce the product planned.

After that, the assembly area is ready to do the job required and when people do all the activities they report to Assembly And Disassembly which rolls and guide are ready to be used in the mill.

In main pulpit the Pass and Roll Changes module report which rolls and guide are working and when they are not used we send to disassembly area.

Again in Assembly and Disassembly module we select which rolls were disassembled.

Finally if we decide turning some rolls we use the Turning Rolls module, in this we report the new diameter after turning. After this we have the rolls and guides ready to use again.
